The space frame structures provide extremely stiff platforms to couple the main
guideways through high-energy air bearings.The probing system is attached to the end of the
Ultra-High Modulus Carbonfiber Spindle which possesses a Near-Zero Coefficient
of Thermal Expansion; other guideway materials include Alumina Ceramic for the
vertical guideway, with its exceptional stiffness-to-mass ratio; and, a granite
rail or table with single dovetail straightedge, offering a further point of
restraint in maintaining orthogonal relationships. All drives are low-inertia,
zero-backlash friction drives providing for extremely smooth, precise
positioning for the most demanding probing or scanning applications.
The machine is being offered with a reach of 2 meters (80 inches), 2.5 meters (100
inches) in the vertical axis and up to 16 meters (630 inches) in the long
(column) axis, in both table and rail model. The machine is also available in
Twin Column versions. | |
